Mrs. Cyd Beevers

Cyd Beevers, born on June 7, 1949, in El Paso, Texas, was called to her eternal home on February 6, 2025, from her earthly home in Guntersville, Alabama, following a courageous battle with Leukemia. Cyd is the beloved wife of Vernon Beevers of the family home and the faithful and adoring mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She was surrounded by her family as she peacefully transitioned from this life. She lived in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah during her childhood. After graduating from High school in Salt Lake City and studying at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, she married her devoted husband, Vernon. Together, they shared over 53 years of love and partnership. Cyd and Vernon were blessed with three children: William who passed away in his infancy; Dale of Oakland, California; and Richard of Huntsville. She was proud and loving grandmother to Dale's daughter Grace and Caitlin and Cade, the children of Richard and his wife, Callie. Throughout their life together, Cyd and her family made homes in New Mexico, Colorado, Washington, California, Wyoming, and finally, Alabama. A gifted researcher and archivist, Cyd spent a lifetime joyfully exploring history, genealogy, NFL football, and deep passion for Thoroughbred horse racing. She often said that if she could have changed anything in her life, she would have become a librarian-- a role she once held in her youth and cherished deeply. Preceding Cyd in death are her parents, Edward Alsup and Dorothy Alsup, her sisters Dee Woodward and Nan Hines, and her first born son William. She is survived by her brother Arthur and his wife Kim. In addition, Cyd is survived by her cherished husband, daughter, son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Cyd was especially grateful for the love and professional care provided by her daughter-in-law, Callie. She often referred to Callie as her personal Nurse Practioner and relied on her for guidance throughout her health challenges. The family would also like to thank the dedicated doctors and staff of the Marshall Cancer Center for their compassionate and professional care. Cyd will be cremated by Carr Funeral Home, and a celebration of life service will be held in Guntersville on March 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Guntersville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to the Foundation for Marshall Medical Centers in her memory.
