Robert E Hopper Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert E. Hopper, 93, of Scant City, Alabama, died at his home June 11th, 2022. He was born in Caledonia, Mississippi and spent summers in Vernon, Alabama. After college, he moved to Davenport, Iowa, where he met his wife and raised his family of seven. He had many jobs and learned trades to take care of his family. He delivered gas for Standard Oil Co., owned a gas station, learned welding and metal fabrication, worked at Hawkeye Fab in Illinois and Lucky Manufacturing in Huntsville, Alabama.. He and his wife had a screen printing business in Guntersville until he retired. Then they hit the road in a travel trailer and saw lots of the U.S.A. They settled in Scant City after they came off the road. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mary Hopper; brother, B.C. Hopper; infant sister, Zell Hopper; two children, Cindy and James Hopper. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hopper; children, Christine Harbin (Dan), Scott Hopper (Neda) ,Laura Gsell (Greg); grandchildren, Carrie Jones, Andrew Harbin and Mathieu Hopper; great-grandchildren, Katie and Gabe Jones. He will be cremated and no services or memorials at this time.
