Douglas Dene Stephenson

September 17, 1955 - April 19, 2022

Douglas Dene Stephenson “Doug” was born in Escondido, California, on September 17, 1955. After high school, Doug served in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Infantryman and relocated to Alabama where he met his wife Terri Gamble and began his family. He graduated from Jacksonville State University with a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing, joined the Guntersville Jaycees and ran many businesses throughout his lifetime. Doug was a free spirit who loved videography, traveling, surfing and spending time with his family. He passed away in Guntersville on April 19, 2022, at the age of 66. Doug is survived by his children: Dustan Stephenson, Natalin Stephenson, Chad Stephenson and Jake Ousley; brothers and sisters: Dawn Lee Stephenson, Roxanne Stephenson, Michael Stephenson, Pamela DeCamp, Sunday Busse, Johnny Donley, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Rocky Stephenson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on April 24, 2022, from 12-2 pm at the Lake Guntersville State Park Beach Pavilion. All family and friends are welcome to attend. An additional oceanside ceremony in California will take place this summer.
