Ms. Annie B. Varnell age 80 of Guntersville, passed away Saturday August 25, 2018. She was born in Mississippi and lived in Guntersville at the time of her passing. As a young girl she went to MCHS and worked at Lake City Theater. She was born June 1, 1938 to Adrion and Lois Barnes. Ms. Varnell loved God, family, pets, and politics. She had six children. Rena Garland (Lanny) of Tenn., Rhonda Whitehead (Jeff) of Guntersville, Regina Fossett (Kenny) of Guntersville, Frank “Rudy” Varnell (Myrna) of Guntersville, Ramona Burnett (The Late Paul) of Georgia, Tommy “Padro” Varnell (Robbin) of Florence. Sister; Shirley Kay of Albertiville, Ten Grandchildren, Twenty Three Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother, grandson and a great grandson. Visitation was Monday August 27, 2018 at Carr Funeral Home. Funeral Service was Tuesday August 28, 2018 at Carr Funeral Home with burial following in Sweet Home Cemetery. Her grandson Ben Gooch preached a beautiful service. Pallbearers were her grandsons; Michael Varnell, Eric Whitehead, Jacob Burnett, Graham Garland, Dakota Blackstock, and Tony McCleary.
