Samuel Larry "Red" Long - Age 50 - of Albertville, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at DeKalb Regional Medical Center in Ft. Payne.  Service for Mr. Long will be Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 2 pm at Carr Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Barnes officiating and Carr Funeral Home Directing.  Interment will be in Memory Hill Cemetery in Albertville.  Visitation for Mr. Long will be Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 6 until 8 pm at Carr Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Sheriffs' Dept. Correctinal Officers: Officer Bennett, Sgt. Hughes, Sgt. Plunkett, Officer Fann, Officer Riddle, and Capt. Bankson.

Samuel Larry "Red" Long was born in the State of Tennessee, September 26, 1960; the Son of Samuel Sherman Long and Shelvy Rogers Landry. 

Mr. Long is survived by his wife, Sonia Long, of Albertville; his Father, Sherman Long and his wife, Sue, of Tennessee; his Mother, Shelvy Landry, and her husband, Sean, of Albertville; 1 Son, Daniel Long and his wife, Katie, of Albertville; 1 Step-Son, Logan Roland, of Albertville; 1 Daughter, Samantha Long, of Albertville; 1 Grandson, Rylan Long; 2 Step-Brothers: Leo Landry and his wife, Sabrina, of Albertville and Todd Long of Missouri; and 1 Sister, Lisa Flanders, of Georgia.
