Mr.Robert Reid Thompson of Guntersville passed away Wednesday December 7,2011 at Shepherd's Cove Hospice. He was 75.

Mr.Thompson was a faithful member of the Guntersville Church of Christ .He was a veteran with the US Army.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday December 9,2011 at 11:00am at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.Interment will follow at Brookwood Cemetery in Arab.Phillip Bradley will officiate.Joe Whitaker will provide the music.Vistation:Friday 9:00am - service time.

What a great guy was my cousin Reid. I most certainly will miss our hour if not more phone conversations, about kin, friends, foods, the good old days. and so much more. Sometimes serious talks, but most of the time funny situations. He was wonderful, and very dear to my heart. Now his pain is gone. He is with his Mom, Dad and all the kin that have gone on before him. but mainly, he is with our beloved Jesus. Goodye for now Reid. 'See you in heaven. Love, Mitz

Sure hate to have missed the funeral. I guess no one had a phone number to call the family in Mobile. If someone can, please call John Jacobson at 251-344-4868, and give us some details. We don't have numbers for anyone who was caring for Reid either. Even though I hadn't seen Reid since I was shorter than his hogs (years ago), I was so glad Dad & I were able to visit with him just recently. I would have loved to spend more time with him.
